Student Visa
Students from abroad need a valid student residence visa which may be obtained from University Administration. After providing necessary documentation, Student visas are issued to students enrolled in Dubai International Academic City, for the duration of one year. To be eligible you must also have funds equivalent to AED 30,000 based on Bank statements. Students holding student visa status are not permitted to work by law.
The International Student Services Office is ready to assist students in visa and travel assistance.
You are required to complete the form along with the copy of your passport and eight passport-sized photos. An application for student residence visa is given to the Department of Immigration. After the visa has been issued, a scanned copy of the visa is sent to the email address provided on the request form.
Applying for a Visa
Sponsorship procedures begin when the student has accepted an unconditional offer and has paid fees due as per Letter of Offer. A clear color passport copy with minimum 6 months validity, 5 passport size photos, a receipt for the payment of visa and tuition fees and a copy of unconditional offer letter are required essentially.
The full cost of the student visa is AED 2,500. It covers health insurance. a valid Emirates ID card is also compulsory. Visa applications that are rejected will incur costs associated with the visa application process. Students arriving in the UAE on a tourist or service visa must exit the country in order to validate the student visa once issued.
Visas are normally valid for a period of 12 months and require renewal every year depending on the duration of the program enrolled in.
Government Related Services
On the conditions that the individual must be a registered student of Abu Dhabi University with at least 12 units and the student must have a GPA of at least 2.0?
Conditions:
Filled-up visa application form, Proof of Student Health Insurance / Receipt of corresponding fee, Medical Test result from Accredited Medical Center - Sheikh Khalifa Medical Center. Subsequent to the undergoing of medical examination as prescribed by Ministry of Health / DNRD in the specified government hospitals a multiple entry visa is stamped on the student’s passport. If any student is declared medically unfit by MOH/DNRD the visa will be cancelled immediately
